What is the quality of your experience when you glimpse the embodiment of your essential Self as I Am? How would you describe this experience? Does it feel like pure being, radiant presence, or total love? Or, is it a sense of light, vibration, unity, or a simple, profound Is-ness?
The Shift to the Collective
What occurs within you when the focus shifts from I Am to We Are? At one level, you may remain in a state where the “I” and the “We” are indistinguishable as the same singular essence expressed through many. However, on another level, can you join me as the “We” becomes more personal and human? This is the realm of personalities living within time. In this space, what is it like to meet others and recognize them as this Shared Being? To behold another person not just as a separate entity, but as a living truth of our shared essence?
Exploring this We Are often raises the question of integration: How do we reconcile this spiritual essence seeing with our human multiplicity of personalities and preferences? Does this We Are exploration help you bridge the gap between human and being, heaven and earth, or help you find the living Joy of Life or Dance of Leela?
The Boundary of “But Not Them”
In the reality of daily life, most of us eventually encounter a limit: the “But not them” exception. Even when we strive to embody We Are, there are often certain people or groups where we struggle to see or feel that shared connection.
Where is your line? Where does your protective system say “no” to opening? And as to our no’s, can we welcome and appreciate the wisdom of our precious protective system? Can we honor the part of us that creates these boundaries, recognizing that it is doing its best to care for us?
The Inner Dance
Perhaps the spiritual life can arise as a dance amongst these three movements: your “I Am”, your “We Are”, and your “But not them”.
When all three arise and play through, what does that feel like? Do you find a unique richness in allowing the absolute unity, the human connection, and the protective boundaries to coexist as a single co-arising experience?
How’s this play for you? How would you reframe the exploration? Thoughts?
